best coffee Seattle’s Best Coffee (www.seattlesbest.com) offers recipes for using cold brewed iced coffee in lattes, mochas, ice cream sundaes and more.

The key ingredient in iced coffee drinks from Seattle’s Best Coffee is the cold brewed coffee concentrate, produced by using the cold brewing process with the Toddy® brewing system. A Toddy uses cold water to extract the natural, delicious flavors of coffee and leaves behind undesirable bitter acids and oils. The result: A bold, slightly sweet, a little crisp, super-smooth taste with the added benefit of more than 50% less acidity than conventional brewing methods. Cold brewed coffee is used as the base for Seattles Best Coffee JavaKula™ blended beverages, coffee milkshakes and Hand Shaken ColdBrewed Originals.

ORGANIC FOOD……………….?

Im doing a debate, and my group got non organic food. Its harder than organic food because there arent alot of facts we can defend on. But is there any benefits on why organic food is better than non Organic Food? Or than the price… thank u
i ment to say other than the price**

There is more farm land that is conventionally manged so conventional food is a lot easier to obtain at this point in time. Less than 12% of farm land world wide is organically managed meaning over 88% of all farmland is conventionally managed

I herd a lot of people say that they drank cranapple juice, and gained weight from it. I want to gain weight, but is it healthy weight, or just sugar that can cause diabetes.

Any natural fruit juice, when taken with a normal meal, will add hundreds of calories to the meal, thus aiding in putting weight on you. Most people drink orange juice to do this but cranberry juice will have the same effect. (You are helping to take in more calories than you burn.)

Weight should not be just muscle, by the way. People who need to gain weight for medical reasons aren’t looking for a super hard, muscular body. They just want to look normal and acceptable. And they want enough weight on them so that they can fight off infections and such like normal people. Added weight to an underweight person also makes their physiques look more rounded, filled in, and healthy.

I’ve searched Yahoo Answers and even though this question has been asked many times, the answers are everywhere. I’m mainly curious if there is a region in the world that is known to produce the best tasting coffee beans when roasted properly.

First, it is generally agreed that the Best Coffee bean is an arabica, not a robusta coffee bean. The arabica is grown at higher climates and is less bitter. There are many varietals of the arabica which originated in Ethiopia.

It is not the Kopi Luwak that is pooped out, but that would be considered the most exotic however that is not what you asked. Nor would it be Starbucks unless you asked for best coffee milkshake.

So if you were to try many arabicas from different areas of the world you might settle on a flavor that suits your palate, kinda like Coke over Pepsi.

But there is one country based on international cupping competitions that continuously produces champion coffees and is considered to have the best micro climate on the planet for growing coffee. That country is Panama. You are probably surprised but here are the facts.

2003 was the last year the SCAA (Specialty Coffee Assoc of America) had a true blind cupping competition where every entrant was single and not grouped (Since then, they grouped countries and then went to best of origin/country). That year (2003), Panama coffees ranked 1st (Lerida Estates), 2nd, 3rd, 9th and 10th out of 100+ worldwide entrants. Quite a landslide on a worldwide scale.

In 2004, there was no cupping competition while they (SCAA) revamped the competition which makes sense from their view since they represent all coffee growing regions.

Then in 2005, La Hacienda Esmeralda (Panama – Boquete area) introduced their geisha/gesha (bean) coffee to the competition and won in 2005, 2006 and 2007. Many coffee connoisseurs considered this was the best coffee ever. This coffee also blew the lid off of wholesale prices.

So based on independent cupping competitions, Panama is the best answer to your question. Then again, it does come down to your palate preferences.

Go to the library you will find heaps of info in books and a lot of it is just commonsense they also sell organics at local markets on a Saturday like at willunga markets etc and I think the brick works have an organic stall as well if you want to grow organics don’t use any chemicals and pull weeds out by hand, get some chooks to use there poo to fertilise and if you have the room rotate your chook yard with your veggie garden it works really well if you go to your local health shop they can give you heaps of info and there is a magazine that comes out you get it from the newsagent and its all about natural way to grow every thing can’t remember the name of it but I think the writers are from Boron Bay and its thin and in black and white ink.

i have been looking around many places around my area for Healthy Juices and other health foods but i have noticed everything is so expensive and since im a college student working to pay off my tuition i find it kind of hard to eat healthy so if anyone knows of a cheap please to get healthy food specially juices around Pasadena California please let me know thank you.
when you guys say that Costco has them on sale around how much will i be paying?

Costco has it and it should be the best price around. It’s hard to remember the price since it lasts close to a month each time I buy it.

best coffee?

what kind do you think is the best
i like 8 oclock and folgers..

The Best Coffee is the coffee you roast and grind yourself.
In my case, it is a toss up between Costa Rica Tarrazu and Mexico Screen Dried.
The Costa Rica has a great taste, but the Mexico has more of a fruited aroma and flavor.
Canned coffee makes me ill, diarrhea and nausea.

Whole Foods Organic, Made In China

organic food Read The Fine Print

Whole Foods, in their 275 stores, charges organic prices alright for their organic food, but it turns out plenty of this produce is Made in China.

What kind of organic standards are being met there? Is it consistent? According to this story by ABC News, it is at best highly suspect and at worst a total scam.

Obviously, it is better to buy local produce for so many other reasons: the much lower carbon footprint, the fact that you’re supporting local farms, eating what is in season – we know all this very well!

However, sometimes you might opt to shop at Whole Foods when no local produce is available. So here is information from both sides- now you be the judge.

So as to give voice to both sides, here is the response from Whole Foods to this news story, written by Joe Dickson, Organic Certification Coordinator for Whole Foods Market, posted on their website (http://blog.wholefoodsmarket.com/whole-foods-market-responds-to-wjla/)

“Organic products from China can absolutely be certified organic to the exact same standard as domestic products. While China has had a number of food quality issues in the news in the past year, it does not mean everything grown in the entire country is unsafe. Since 2002, the USDA’s National Organic Standards have governed exactly what can be sold as organic in the US — how it’s grown, processed and handled — regardless of where in the world it’s grown, INCLUDING China. Organic integrity is ensured every step of the way. For example, a broccoli grower in China must be visited and certified to the USDA organic standards by a certifying agent that is approved and supervised by the USDA. If that broccoli is processed in a packaging plant, that plant must also be visited and certified by a certifying agent, who verifies that the handling and ingredients of the product comply with the standard. This structure is the backbone of organic integrity under the USDA organic standard — everyone who grows or handles Organic Food must be certified and audited by a USDA-accredited certifier. The USDA then provides audits and oversight of the certifiers to ensure that they are enforcing the standard and upholding organic integrity.”

Your choice — but you should know that “Organic” does NOT necessarily mean “Local” at Whole Foods. Read the fine print!
